As a nurse who has practiced in rural and urban hospitals for 48 years and in critical bedside to administrative roles in acute and subacute care settings, I find the journals provided by Elsbeth Wetherill to be remarkable guides to renew, refresh, reflect and grow insight into one’s very being. While these journals are not meant to be substitutes for direct expert or medical assistance, they provide a mechanism for the practitioner to get in touch with oneself in a focused, meaningful way; a journey of self- discovery and personal enlightenment that will enrich the everyday experience of life around you.

Developed to be explored in 12 week intervals with four week progress evaluations, the two journals are focused on you, the individual, and the individual’s relationship with everyday activity and
personal interactions.

The Conscious Creator’s Notebook emphasizes how to convert negative and self -defeating thoughts into positive and affirming thoughts that lead to personal growth and well- being. The journal is structured to guide you into the practice of consciously creating your thoughts to affirm who you are, what you can and will achieve, and to visualize your success. The journal helps you build that success through daily journaling and emotional reflection.

Evidence of Joy: A Guided Journal emphasizes how to select a word of the day and identify how it impacts your transition throughout that day. When you witness or experience your chosen word wherever you go and wherever you look, you may find a hidden treasure that has been hiding in plain sight. As you move through the journal and follow its daily intention, you may find inspiration, comfort, creativity, and yes, joy, in a moment that has made itself known because you allowed yourself to experience it by being open to possibility.
As conversations and stressors in the world impact how we live day to day and have made us feel loss, or diminished, or angry or hopeless, remember that the power of thought can change your day to day experience in a positive way. Journaling is a way to get in touch with your inner self, and it will empower you to practice mindfulness as part of your daily routine.

These journals are a thoughtful gift to yourself, a family member or a friend. By learning to journal, you will have given yourself a gift that keeps on giving.
